The All-New Toyota Tundra Gives Back To Texas Community

June 30th, 2022 by

You’ve most likely heard of the new 2022 Toyota Tundra redesign, with its aluminum-reinforced composite bed construction, patented Toyota Safety Sense technology, and a maximum towing capacity of up to 11,175 pounds. When you’re looking for a new, or new to you, car, you’re probably thinking two words: “buy Toyota.”

But if providing for your community is just as important to you as getting the best deal on a Toyota, then here’s some good news. What if your money went toward deserving communities, like Ismael Guzmán’s in East Texas, local farmers and the broader community of West Dallas, and the graduating high school seniors of Bexar County?

Keep reading to find out how you can give back to the community when you buy a Toyota Tundra.

Guzmán’s Story

Ismael Guzmán is a lifelong soccer fan and contributor to his community. He founded the East Austin Soccer Club as a solution to a problem he saw in his community. Other children’s soccer clubs required lofty fees that the families of the children around him couldn’t afford.

But it hasn’t been easy going. Guzmán and his son Javier complete all the maintenance on the field, from cutting the grass to painting the lines. And since soccer season overlaps with the school year, Guzmán makes it a top priority for the team to finish their homework before they play. But with school ending around 2:30 pm and the sun setting around 7 pm, it doesn’t give them a large window of time to study, warm up, and practice before the sun goes down.

With Toyota’s help, the club was able to buy a lighting system that will allow them to play after sundown. To share the story, Toyota coordinated with TelevisaUnivision’s new studio Así Studios, featuring the new Toyota Tundra.

A Top Performing Toyota Truck

The Toyota Tundra 2022 redesign features improved payload and towing capacity and rear air suspension. The i-FORCE 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6s are packed into the Limited and 1794 editions, while the TRD Pro model features the i-FORCE MAX 3.5L Twin-Turbo Hybrid. The Tundra has two different four-door versions. The first is the CrewMax crew-cab model with either a 5.5 or 6.5-foot bed. The second, the Double Cab, also known as an extended cab, has either a 6.5 or 8.1-foot bed.

But you’re not buying a Toyota Tundra strictly for its top-tier capabilities; the look and feel are just as important. That’s why the new Tundra has updated styling for both the interior and exterior, with a standard 8-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that can be upgraded to 14-inches.

Even though you might be hesitant about messing up the paint job, there are plenty of reasons to take the new Tundra off-road. For those looking for adventure, there are the TRD Limited Off-Road package and the TRD Pro. Both sport Toyota’s MTS(multi-terrain select) and crawl control systems.

The differences begin with the suspension, as the TRD Off-Road package comes with Bilstein shocks tuned for crawling and going over obstacles at slower speeds. In contrast, the TRD Pro is made for high-speed off-roading, with 2.5” FOX shocks.

The tires on the Off-Road are Falken branded Wildpeak A/Ts, fitted on a 20” TRD wheel. The Pro similarly dons the Wildpeak A/Ts, but at a larger size and on BBS Forged wheels. Both will be more than capable and fun to drive on and off paved roads, but if you’re an off-roading buff you’ll want to choose the best one for your needs.

The Toyota Tundra price range starts at only $35,950 with a 4×2 Double Cab 6.5 ft bed, a total of eight airbags, Safety Connect, and the Star Safety System. The most expensive trim is the Capstone at $74,230, which comes with a 4×4 HV CrewMax 5.5-ft. bed and 21 combined mpg.

Community Matters — Buy Toyota

Toyota has a commitment to the state of Texas as a whole, not just East Austin. Following the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, Toyota Motor North America partnered with Gulf States Toyota and GSFSGroup. They donated $250,000 to support counseling and bereavement services for those affected.

In March of this year, Toyota Motor North America(TMNA) and Toyota Financial Services(TFS) backed the Toyota USA Foundation’s new program, Driving Possibilities. It’s based on the success of a West Dallas PreK-8 STEM school, developed as a joint venture between Toyota, the Dallas Independent School District, Southern Methodist University, and the West Dallas community. But Driving Possibilities isn’t just focused on education, but on community improvement as well, such as dealing with job training, mobility services, and food insecurity.

Back in November of 2021, Toyota debuted the new Tundra in Dallas as part of the Impossible Farmers Market, celebrating some larger-than-life produce. After helping haul some with the Tundra’s impressive towing capacity, Toyota donated veggies to the local West Dallas community. The donation was in an amount equal to those that were donated to farmers in the area at the end of the market.

Toyota collaborated with the University of North Texas at Dallas(UNTD) to organize a mobile farmers market, bringing fresh produce into food deserts. But Toyota’s compassion isn’t limited to these events.

In 2019, Toyota Manufacturing, Texas, Inc. announced that they were donating $500,000 over a five-year commitment to the AlamoPROMISE program across the five Alamo colleges.

This program provides the first two years of college at no cost to Bexar County’s graduating seniors. This allows them to get a quality start to their higher education without the burden of student loans.

Buy a Toyota Tundra

Toyota is more than a car brand. They’re a community brand, dedicated to the state of Texas and America as a whole. When you buy a Toyota Tundra, you’re not just buying a great truck. You’re contributing to Toyota’s mission to support local communities and the future of the nation.

Toyota cares about Texas. So if you’re shopping for Toyota cars, think of Universal Toyota in San Antonio, the best place for Toyota used cars as well as new ones. They carry out Toyota’s goal of giving back and are dedicated to giving you the best possible service.
